Effective Date: August 3, 2026

Prestomedia, LLC (“Prestomedia,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Free Text Editor application (“App”). We believe your digital workspace should be private and secure. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle data when you use our App.

Free Text Editor relies on Google OAuth for authentication and authorization. To function, the App requests the following specific permissions (scopes) from your Google Account:

Identity & Authentication Scopes (openid, email, profile): Used solely to verify your identity, allow you to log into the App securely, and display your basic profile information (like your email address) within the App’s user interface.

Google Drive Scopes (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.install and https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file): These scopes allow the App to be installed in your Google Workspace and grant the App permission to view, create, edit, and save only the specific files you choose to open or create with Free Text Editor. The App cannot access other files in your Google Drive that were not created or opened by it.

We do not store your files. The App acts as a bridge between your browser and your Google Drive™. All file content you create, edit, or encrypt using Free Text Editor is saved directly to your Google Drive™ account. Prestomedia’s backend infrastructure (hosted on Google Cloud/Firebase) is used strictly to serve the application code to your browser. We do not store, host, or back up your file content on our databases.

If you use the Passphrase Encryption feature, your file content is processed in your browser using OpenPGP and saved to your Google Drive™ in Radix-64 PGP ASCII Armor encoding.

Your passphrase is used on-the-fly in your browser’s memory.

We never transmit your passphrase to our servers.

We never store your passphrase in cookies, local storage, or databases. Because we do not know or store your passphrase, we cannot recover your data if you lose it.

Google API Services User Data Policy (Limited Use Disclosure)

Section titled “Google API Services User Data Policy (Limited Use Disclosure)”

Free Text Editor’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Specifically:

We do not use your Google data for advertising purposes.

We do not sell your Google data to third parties.

We only use the requested scopes to provide the core functionality of the text editor.

Cookies, Tracking, and Third-Party Advertising

Section titled “Cookies, Tracking, and Third-Party Advertising”

Our application enforces strict privacy standards:

No Tracking Cookies: We do not use tracking cookies or monitoring scripts to track your behavior across the web.

No Advertising: We do not serve third-party advertisements inside the App.

We only use strictly necessary session mechanisms (such as standard OAuth tokens) required to keep you securely logged in while using the App.

Because Prestomedia does not store your files or personal data (beyond the temporary session data required to authenticate you via Google), your data remains under your control within Google Drive™. You can review, modify, or delete your files directly through Google Drive™ at any time. You may also revoke the App’s access to your Google Account at any time via your Google Account Security settings.

It is the user’s responsibility to ensure that their use of Free Text Editor complies with the privacy laws applicable to them (such as GDPR, CCPA, etc.) regarding the specific content they choose to write and store.

The App is intended for use by adults only. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used the App, please note that all file data is stored in the user’s Google Drive™, and access can be revoked via the child’s Google Account settings.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Effective Date” at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
